Where the dates come from
Vimshottari runs a hundred and twenty years across nine lords, in a fixed order. Which lord you start with and how much of it was left at birth come from the exact position of your Moon inside its nakshatra — which is why two people born hours apart can be running different periods for decades. The one thing that moves every date on this page is the length of the dasha year, which has more than one reading in circulation; this site declares which it uses.
Why do my dates differ from another site by months?
Almost always the dasha year. A 360-day year and a solar year of 365.25 days both have advocates, and across a 120-year cycle the difference compounds into months. It is a declared choice here, not a hidden one.
