What is kept
The full moon after Navratri, said to be the brightest of the year. Many families make kheer and keep it out in the moonlight through the night, and eat it as prasad the next morning. In Bengal, Assam and Mithila it is Kojagari Lakshmi puja, and people stay awake at night for Maa Lakshmi.
