The day Lord Vishnu goes to sleep for four months, and Chaturmas begins. From today until Dev Uthani Ekadashi, weddings and house-warmings are not done. In Maharashtra it is Ashadhi Ekadashi, when the wari of lakhs of warkaris reaches Pandharpur for Vitthal darshan. Like every ekadashi it is kept for Lord Vishnu: no rice or grains, and the fast is broken the next day, on Dwadashi, at the parana time given on this page.
