Guru Purnima 2028 — Thursday, 06-07-2028

What is kept

The day to honour the guru, whoever taught you. It is also the birthday of Maharishi Ved Vyas, who wrote the Mahabharata, so it is called Vyas Purnima too. Disciples visit their guru, touch their feet and give dakshina, and many people remember their school teachers and parents. Buddhists keep this full moon too, as the day the Buddha gave his first sermon at Sarnath.
