The day Shri Krishna gave the Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna on the battlefield of Kurukshetra. People read the Gita, or at least a chapter of it, and temples hold readings and talks. The same Ekadashi is Mokshada Ekadashi, and many people fast on it. Kurukshetra holds a big Gita Mahotsav around this day.
