What is kept
The first ekadashi of the Hindu new year, a few days after Rama Navami. Kamada means the one that fulfils wishes. Its katha is of Lalit, a gandharva who was freed from a curse because his wife Lalita kept this fast. Like every ekadashi it is kept for Lord Vishnu: no rice or grains, and the fast is broken the next day, on Dwadashi, at the parana time given on this page.
