What is kept
The hardest ekadashi of the year: kept without even water, from sunrise to the next sunrise. It is also called Bhimseni Ekadashi, because Bhim, who could not fast on every ekadashi, was told by Ved Vyas that keeping this one fully was equal to keeping all of them. People give daan of water pots, fans, umbrellas and fruit. The fast is broken the next day, on Dwadashi, at the parana time given on this page.
