What is kept
The full moon. Many families do the Satyanarayan puja and katha on Purnima, take a bath in a holy river, and give daan. Some keep a fast and break it after seeing the moon. Many big festivals fall on a Purnima: Holika Dahan, Guru Purnima, Raksha Bandhan, Sharad Purnima and Kartik Purnima.
