What is kept
Apara means without limit, for the punya this fast is said to bring. It is also called Achala Ekadashi. People worship Lord Vishnu in his Trivikram form and give daan. Like every ekadashi it is kept for Lord Vishnu: no rice or grains, and the fast is broken the next day, on Dwadashi, at the parana time given on this page.
