What is kept
The ekadashi of victory. Shri Ram kept this fast on the sea shore, on the advice of a sage, before crossing to Lanka. People keep it before any hard task they want to win at. Like every ekadashi it is kept for Lord Vishnu: no rice or grains, and the fast is broken the next day, on Dwadashi, at the parana time given on this page.
